If You Don't Stand in Jesus Christ, You Don't Stand a Chance.
What you chose to do with this man, Jesus Christ, is the most important decision you'll
ever make. That may sound like a stretch to you, but it is true. He is presented in the Bible
as the only Savior of sinners and the Judge of sin.

In Jesus Christ, we see the twin truths of God's character: His perfect righteousness and
His unsurpassed love. His righteousness demands that sinners be punished. His love,
however, means He does not desire to punish the guilty. So God the Father solved this
dilemma in His Son, Jesus Christ. As the unique Son of God, Jesus is Himself both God
and man. As God, He understands completely what satisfies God's righteousness. As
man, He understands us and our human condition. He knows what it is like to be rejected.
He knows what it's like to feel humiliated; to feel alone; to be unjustly accused. Whatever
your life is like, it can be truly said of Jesus that He's been there, yet did not sin.

When Jesus came the first time, He came as the Savior of sinners. When He comes
again, He'll come as the Judge of the Earth to establish God's eternal Kingdom. Each and
every person ever born will stand before Him to account for his or her life. In that moment,
each person who has not trusted Jesus' work as their Savior will be cast into eternal Hell
by Him as their Judge.

And now the scary part. The Bible says that each person is a sinner--including you. This
means that you are now faced with this man, Jesus Christ. You can bow to Him now as
Lord and your only hope of satisfying God's righteousness, or you will bow before Him
later as Judge and it will be too late.
Ready for the Good News?
Let's review: You are born a sinner, totally unable to satisfy God's righteousness and
Jesus will either be your Savior or your Judge. How do you bridge the gap? How does a
person move from the kingdoms of this world and the Kingdom of God? This can be done
as follows:
  1. Acknowledge that you are a helpless sinner in God's sight and in desperate need
    of a Savior. (Romans 3:23)
  2. Believe what the Bible says about Jesus that He died on a cruel cross as the only
substitute for God's judgement on sinners such as yourself. In other words, believe
that He took your punishment in your place. (I Peter 3:18)
  3. Confess this belief with your words by calling to God in prayer for mercy in Jesus.
Tell Him that you understand that you cannot do enough to make up for the wrong
you have done and ask Him for the forgiveness He offers freely to all who ask
through His Son, Jesus. (John 1:1, 12 and John 3:1-21)
What Now?
If you have sincerely done this before God (remember, He can't be fooled!), then welcome
to the Kingdom of Light! This is a new start, a new direction for you as you follow the Lord
Jesus. Being a Christian is like marriage: You make a commitment to each other to stay
together no matter what and then you work the rest of your life to build that relationship. As
in marriage, you must talk to your spouse. We call this, "prayer." It's just talking to God in
any way that is comfortable to you. And He talks back to you through His Word, the Bible.

At first, it may seem odd talking to an invisible person, but know for sure that He is there.
He has also established the church where those of us who call on the Name of the Lord
meet for encouragement, fellowship and growth in our understanding of this great thing
God is doing in each of our lives.

We'd love to hear from you if you've made this decision. We'll send you a free Bible and will
do our best to answer your questions and direct you toward a church where you can begin
growing in your walk with God.
