"Christianity, if false, is of no importance,
and, if true, of infinite importance.
The one thing it cannot be is moderately important.”
- C.S. Lewis
Who speaks for God?
Many people are searching for what is missing in their lives. They have tried materialism, science, religion, education, politics, sex, drugs, music, and many other pursuits all in the name of “finding themselves.” It has become popular to reject the notion of unchanging moral truth. Instead of being concerned about what God might have to say, they are listening to what makes sense in the moment; to what feels right.
At Blue Ridge Bible Church, we believe that God has created everything to show His existence, His vast intelligence, and His masterful creativity. He has also written a book we call the Bible. Everything we need to know about living this life and the life to come is there. We seek to know and worship God through His written Word to us and to make Him known by proclaiming His truth.
What a church believes is of utmost importance. Below is a summary of the core doctrines that we believe. In addition to these doctrines, we also place strong emphasis on daily obedience to God by His grace through the power of His Holy Spirit.
For more detail, see our Statement of Faith.

GodThere is only one God, Who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Jesus ChristWe affirm the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ; His virgin birth; His sinless life; His miracles; His vicarious and atoning death on the cross for sin; His bodily resurrection; His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and His physical return in power and glory.
The Holy SpiritWe affirm the ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the believer is enabled to live a God-pleasing life.
The BibleWe are committed to the Old and New Testaments as the only authoritative and sufficient rule for faith and practice. We believe the Bible to the inspired, infallible, authoritative, and sufficient Word of God.

SalvationFor the salvation of sinful mankind, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
Grace and FaithA person is justified--declared righteous before God--only by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
The ChurchWe affirm the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ and His church.
ResurrectionWe believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the unsaved: Those that are saved to the resurrection of life and those that are unsaved to the resurrection of damnation.

Romans 1:16-20 ESV
I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, "The righteous shall live by faith."
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.
For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.
